In the English language proficiency tests marketplace for migration to English speaking countries and study abroad, CELPIP is the newest entrant. The test is unique in the sense that, unlike the existing tests, CELPIP caters specifically to the contextual requirements for immigrants and international students. The test taker is exposed to the situations/contexts that they are supposed to come across in actual day-to-day interactions. English Language skills and aptitudes of students vary and the requirements of CELPIP also vary. There are two versions of the CELPIP Test: the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test. The CELPIP-General Test assesses functional Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills, and is accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as proof of English language proficiency for permanent residency in Canada. The CELPIP-General LS Test assesses functional Listening and Speaking proficiency, and is accepted by IRCC as proof of English language proficiency for Canadian citizenship.
